Pressing the Restart Button on Your Sadhana

The spiritual journey is seldom linear. It is a winding path, full of ups and downs, triumphs and tribulations, and moments of clarity followed by bouts of confusion. And let's not forget, there are times when we stumble, lose our way, or even take a deliberate pause. If you've found yourself disconnected from your Sadhana, you're not alone. It's okay to falter, and it's even more okay to restart.

What is Sadhana?

Before we dive in, let's understand what Sadhana is. In its simplest form, Sadhana refers to spiritual practices or disciplines which align

, that is, the Ultimate Reality. It is the journey taken to realize one's self, to experience life to its fullest, and to reach a state of inner peace and balance. It's about aligning your mind, body, and soul with the universe.

The Need for a Restart

Despite the utmost intention, maintaining Sadhana can become challenging. Our day-to-day responsibilities, stresses, and distractions might sway us off the path. We might even consciously decide to take a break due to emotional, physical, or mental exhaustion.

It's important to remember that it's perfectly okay to need a restart. There is no judgement or failure in this. It's a part of the process, a part of our growth, and a sign of our self-awareness and honesty. Now that you've recognized your need to restart, you're already one step ahead.

Finding Your Way Back

Restarting your Sadhana isn't about making grand resolutions, but about making small, consistent steps toward your spiritual journey. Here are a few ways to rekindle your connection with your spiritual practice.

1. Set Realistic Goals

Starting with smaller, more achievable goals is a great way to get back on track. Instead of aiming for hours of meditation, start with a few minutes a day. Gradually increase your commitment as you get more comfortable.

2. Establish a Routine

Having a specific routine can help bring discipline to your practice. Allocate a certain time of day for your Sadhana, where you will be free from distractions.

3. Be Patient With Yourself

Understand that it's okay to struggle or stumble along the way. Don't be too hard on yourself. Instead, appreciate your effort and patience.

4. Seek Support

Find a spiritual community or a mentor. Their support, guidance, and shared experiences can be immensely beneficial in reestablishing your Sadhana.

Embrace the Journey

Remember, Sadhana is a journey, not a destination. It's about the experiences, the growth, and the wisdom gained along the way. Restarting your Sadhana is a commendable step, one that showcases your resilience and desire to reconnect with your inner self and the universe.

To end with a quote from Sadhguru, who profoundly speaks about the essence of our existence and the need to break free from the cycle of karma:

"Your past karma is just a memory and it has no power to influence your present or determine your future, unless you allow it to. Sadhana is a tool to dissipate the inertia of karma and step into conscious action."

Your journey through Sadhana is your own, unique to you, shaped by your experiences, and your growth. Take that first step, and keep moving forward. Embrace the restart as a new beginning, a fresh opportunity to delve deeper into your spiritual practice, and a chance to transcend and transform. You've got this!
